Hardware Security Testing
Devices fail in ways software testing never sees. We take hardware apart, pull and analyse the firmware, and probe the interfaces and components an attacker with physical access would go after, then show you what that access really gets them.
What we test
We recover firmware from flash and update packages, then look for hard-coded credentials and keys, insecure update and boot processes, and vulnerable third-party components.
We identify and test exposed debug ports and on-board buses to see whether they give an attacker a shell, a memory dump or a way around your security controls.
We assess whether timing, power or other physical side effects leak secrets or let an attacker get around protections the design relies on.
We review enclosures, tamper protections and component choices to understand how much effort physical access takes and what it exposes.
A device is rarely tested on its own. We cover the companion mobile apps, cloud APIs and network services it talks to, using the same team that does our penetration testing.
Bring us in before manufacture, when changes are cheap. We review architecture and security features with your engineers and help plan testing for each release.
How it works
We agree the threat model up front: who could get hold of the device, what they would want, and how much time and equipment they would have. That keeps the testing focused on the attacks that matter for your product.
You get a report written for both your engineers and decision makers, with findings reproduced step by step and practical fixes that suit the hardware you’re shipping.
Hardware testing often sits alongside our physical security and red teaming work.
